I have written previously about the fields that run above Beechen Cliff. below the allotments and behind houses on Greenway Lane and Lyncombe Hill: Lyncombe Hill Fields, where horses used to graze. From next Tuesday, 1st September, this land will be under the active management of the newly formed, not-for-profit, Friends of Lyncombe Hill Fields Community Interest Company, sponsored jointly by several local community associations.
Attached is a press release issued today by the Council jointly with the FLHF CIC, together with a photograph depicting the land.
The hand-over event next Tuesday (11 am by the Greenway Lane entrance) will necessarily have to be low key and socially distanced. But if you wish to come and see, please feel free to do so. I will be there.
I’ll be writing more about this exciting new project over coming weeks, and inviting those who wish to do so to become involved.
