Queen Elizabeth II
We mourn with the whole Nation the death of our extraordinary monarch Queen Elizabeth. We give thanks for her exceptional dedication and service to us all. We share our condolences with the Royal Family. We would also like to share our best wishes with King Charles III on his accession to the throne. God Save the King
Museum of Bath Stone – Postponed
As this event was planned for the date of Queen Elizabeth’s funeral it has been postponed. We will contact those successful in booking to let them know. This tour on 19 September sold out really quickly – sorry if you were disappointed. We hope to arrange a further tour sometime.
Platinum Jubilee – Widcombe Photos
By coincidence we were due to publicise the photos from street parties to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee from across Widcombe. In the spirit of celebration of the late Queen’s reign we have decided to continue with this by providing the link to the photos on our website. http://www.widcombeassociation.org.uk/dt_gallery/2022-platinum-jubilee/

Widcombe Association Autumn Meeting – 20 October
Another date for your diary – our Autumn meeting will be held at Widcombe Social Club on Thursday 20 October.
Church Street Liveable Neighbourhood Workshop
A workshop was held in June arranged by BANES which considered the proposals for Church Street but which, without pre-warning, covered a wider area of Widcombe. We have written to the Council to express concern about the confusion this caused and that a more representative audience for all of Widcombe was not included. The report does raise some interesting, if somewhat scatter-gun, issues which are included in the report of the event. It is available here: https://beta.bathnes.gov.uk/church-street-and-prior-park-road
VOI Scooters
We have some concerns about the expansion of the area of operation by Voi to include more of Widcombe and the resulting parking areas for these scooters. We will be pursuing this in a constructive way with VOI. Meanwhile if you see scooters which are parked inappropriately, please report this to report.voi.com and let us know.
Best wishes
Jeremy Boss and the WA main committee
