Widcombe Association Autumn Meeting – 20 October
Our Autumn meeting will be on Thursday 20 October at Widcombe Social Club starting at 7.30p.m.
All members are welcome to attend and will have a free drink. It is not necessary to book a ticket but it would be helpful if you could let us know if you are planning to come. The link is https://widcombe-association.whitefuse.net/events/autumn-general-meeting . Unfortunately, three speakers we had lined up for this meeting have all fallen by the wayside. So, instead we will be holding a Q&A panel on a number of topical issues where we would welcome views from our members. Come along, enjoy a glass of wine (other drinks are available), meet fellow residents and let us know your views:
- How do we reduce the impact of traffic in Widcombe?
- Is there a democratic deficit for the City of Bath and are parishes the answer?
- What does the sustainability agenda mean for Widcombe?
- Any other questions from the floor.
Christine Walkden talk – 26 October
Sadly, we have had to cancel this event as there were not sufficient ticket sales to make it viable. Refunds in full will be made to anyone who has bought a ticket.
Church Street History Walk – 9 October
Another sell out for this popular event – sorry if you were disappointed. We are investigating whether a podcast can be made and will publicise it if it works.
Spring bulbs needed
You will all have seen the improvements in the verge at the western end of Widcombe Parade but there are plans to make it even better. If you have any bulbs which you can spare please can you bring these to the autumn meeting or let us know and we will collect them – thanks.
Widcombe Magazine
The autumn issue of the magazine will be delivered early November and will be full of interesting articles as well as details of the Widcombe Christmas Market which will be on 19-20th November.
Best wishes
Jeremy Boss and the WA main committee
