Here are the highlights from our main committee meeting this week.
Journey to Net Zero – reducing the environmental impact of transport in Bath
Garden Club –Tuesday 15th February (on Zoom)
The ever-popular John Tucker, formally of Prior Park Garden Centre, has stepped into the breach to bring us a topical gardening talk this month by zoom. The subject is “Right Plant Wrong Place – regrets we have had a few” and its sure to be in his normal engaging style. You can book your place (free but donations encouraged) at https://widcombe-association.whitefuse.net/events/right-plant-wrong-place-regrets-we-ve-had-a-few The link will be sent out to registered emails a day or two before.
Your committee would like to apologise for the cancellation of several events at the end of last year and the beginning of this. We hope you will understand the exceptional circumstances and the desire to err on the balance of remaining safe. Your events committee has been working hard and an exciting future programme of events is emerging. We all hope we can return to nearer to normal as we all learn to live with COVID.
We have decided that the Widcombe Association will not be organising any central events for the weekend of the jubilee. We think people will prefer to organise more local events with their near neighbours, which we encourage and support.
Are you interested in joining a small group who are working on a variety of initiatives to reduce our carbon footprint? If you would like to get involved or know of someone who might be interested please email either Rick Weatherhead – richard.weatherhead@gmail.com or Steve Cross – crossstig@aol.com
