This update has the greatest relevance for residents of Lyncombe Vale, Greenway and Perrymead.
We just want to update you on the proposals for a residents parking zone in Lyncombe Vale, Greenway and Perrymead. Residents of these streets should already be aware of the consultation but we wanted to ensure that residents were informed and to encourage responding to the proposals by the deadline of the 26 August 2021.
The Council has issued a formal consultation on the proposal for a new residents’ parking zone covering Greenway Lane, Lyncombe Vale Road, Lyncombe Vale, Rosemount Lane, Perrymead and Pope’s Walk. The proposal is consistent with the initial consultation carried out by the Widcombe Association on behalf of the Council in 2018.
Details of the proposal can be found on-line https://beta.bathnes.gov.uk/lyncombe-rpz-traffic-regulation-order-tro-consultation or by emailingcouncil_connect@bathnes.gov.uk and asking for full details plus map and the statement justifying the proposal.
The detailed map shows, for each road in the proposed zone, the proposals for stretches of road for permit holders only, for dual use with a 2 hour limit for non-permit holders, for no parking at any time, and for no restriction on parking (though I could not see any sections of road with this designation).
The consultation closes on 26th August. We have looked at the detailed proposals and can see no obvious issues, but the details of which stretches of road are designated will be of greatest significance for the residents in each road. There may also be those with views on the principle of establishing a new residents’ parking zone.
The Widcombe Association’s stance is to support the proposals, but with the rider that the finer detail is really the concern of local residents.
Thank you
Mike Wrigley (WA Transport & Traffic lead)
