We did not have a main committee meeting in August but wanted to update you on a few things:
Subway work starts
The artists have started in the Claverton Road subway to paint on the winning design. Work will continue for the next two days so please go and see how it is going and say hello to the two artists Dan and Tom. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make this possible, volunteers, sponsors and donors and to Bath & North East Somerset Council who have been very supportive throughout. There is still time to add a donation so we can add extra features to the mural at https://widcombe-association.whitefuse.net/pages/12-subway-appeal
Cycle security making event – 7 August
Avon & Somerset Police community team will be holding cycle marking event in Widcombe. The date is the 7th August 2021 – starting at 1pm. The venue is the Baptist Church in Claverton Street.
Next Garden event – 18 August
Collecting & Growing Seeds – Janet Berlin, a Bath in Bloom judge, harvests seeds from her beautiful 1.6 acre garden in Wingfield. She kept very busy as the gardens are also opened as part of the NGS garden scheme several times a year. There will be an abundance of pictures and also seeds which she has collected.
The next level of public consultation about the future of the Entry Hill Golf Course site is now open and taking views from residents and others on various aspects of the proposals. Details can be found at https://ehbpconsultation.com . Make your views known.
Thank you
Jeremy Boss & the Main Committee
