Dear Widcombe Association Member
Council Elections
As you would expect, your Association is politically neutral. Over the years we work with Councillors and Bath’s MP on a wide variety of issues relating to Widcombe.
Congratulations to the new Councillors elected for what is now Widcombe and Lyncombe Ward: Alison Born and Winston Duguid (both Lib Dem). The WA looks forward to working with them on Widcombe issues.
Thank you to the outgoing former Widcombe Ward Councillor: Ian Gilchrist (Lib Dem) who stood down after a lengthy stint representing us. It’s a very big personal commitment serving as a Council Member
Thank you but also commiserations to Jasper Becker (Con) who was not elected. I might also mention the former Lyncombe Councillor, Mark Shelford (Con), similarly not elected for the new Ward. A number of us had frequent constructive engagement with him in his role as Cabinet Member for Transport.
At the time of writing we await to hear who will take which key roles in the now Liberal Democrat controlled Council.
