Low Traffic Neighbourhoods
The Council has commenced the process to implement the first tranche of Low Traffic Neighbourhood schemes in Bath. A co-design workshop involving residents was held on 1st June to examine current problems along the length of Entry Hill and to consider potential solutions. The responses will be used by the Council’s consultants, AECOM, to produce a number of options that will be subjected to further public consultation.
A second workshop was held on Wednesday 8th June. Although it concentrated on problems on Church Street and Prior Park Road, it also considered traffic issues across Widcombe. There was a particular focus on the problems at the White Hart junction, both for pedestrians crossing Widcombe Hill and Prior Park Road, and the concentration of traffic in this area during peak times in the morning and evening. Other issues raised included the excessive speed of vehicles and cyclists on Widcombe Hill and Prior Park Road. As with Entry Hill, the consultants will develop a number of options that will be subject to public consultation.
Milsom Street Quarter
The Council is consulting on the Milsom Quarter Masterplan which is a long-term plan for development of the area around Milsom Street, Broad Street and Walcot Street. The consultation which closes on 5 July can be accessed here: https://beta.bathnes.gov.uk/milsom-quarter
