Rossiter Road – On Tuesday 4 th Nov Richard Wales, Mike Wrigley, and David Maxwell, together with traders’ representatives, had a positive meeting with B&NES Highways Service Manager Kelvin Packer and designer Vaughan Thompson. ERH will complete the work on the scheme. The northern pavement in the Parade should be complete and parking restored before the Christmas period. A meeting will be held next week between B&NES and ERH to re-programme the works. Following this, we hope to be able to issue a clearer statement to our members.
The Future for WA – Those who attended the Autumn Meeting will be aware that we are looking at how to structure WA in the future. The intention is to set up two more sub-committees, an improving Widcombe Group and a Communications Group, in addition to our Events sub-committee. These new groups will be headed up by existing main committee members and should help to ease the workload of the main committee and, in particular, the Chairman. We would welcome hearing from anyone who might have an interest in becoming involved in either group.
Widcombe Street Party – Plans are underway for the celebration of our new look Parade. Chris Rogers is organising this event. The Council has approved the date for closure of the road and we look forward to good food and entertainment on the day. Do let us know if you are willing to help in any way.
Widcombe Calendar – Helen Peter has done a wonderful job organising the competition for photos and arranging the production of this quality calendar. A wonderful gift at £7.99! The calendar is on sale at Prior Park Garden Centre, The Print Room, The Ram, Bath Tourist Office and Paragon School.
