AGM – We are planning to hold our AGM in the Baptist Church on April 23rd when we will be inviting candidates for election as Widcombe councillors to take part in a brief hustings.
Improving Widcombe – A well-attended meeting on ‘Improving Widcombe’ was held on December 16th when many ideas were put forward. This will be followed up by a meeting on January 27th at 7.30pm in the Baptist lower hall, when we hope to put together an ‘Improving Widcombe’ committee and look at how to best implement the ideas which have so far come in. All are welcome to attend.
Morrisons – Morrison’s is due to open at the end of the month. If anyone has ideas for what they would like to see the shop provide, do let us know and we will put your proposals to the Morrison’s management.
EEW – As you may already know, Claire Powell has left her post as Energy Efficient Widcombe’s co-ordinator to move on to other things. Kate Michell has been appointed in her place and we wish her well in this work.
Students – The student V-team (volunteers) will be decorating St Mark’s community centre on Sunday Feb 15 th and Sunday Feb 22 nd. Anyone who is willing to roll up their sleeves and wield a paintbrush to give them a hand would be more than welcome.
Widcombe Street Party – Plans are going ahead for our ‘Widcombe Celebration’ on Sunday June 7 th to celebrate our new village High Street. More details, and requests for help, will be coming up soon.
Planning Applications – We discussed planning applications including the Foxhill development, the Bath Placemaking Plan, and the plans for 20mph speed limits, including number and positioning of signs.
Events – We have details of two events that may interest members.A debate on the River Avon, – Asset or Liability. This will be held at BRLSI on Thursday Jan 15th, 7.00pm – 10.00pm.
