General Election Hustings
If it can be arranged in time, WA and Bear Flat Residents’ Association are attempting to organise a joint election hustings evening. Further details as soon as I am able.
Police Beat Surgeries
Many of you may recall the Police Liaison meetings, formerly held at Widcombe School but which have been in abeyance for some few years. I used to attend and found them helpful, as I know did our Beat Officer and Community Support Officer.
Well, they have been recommenced in a somewhat different format, with our local Councillors also participating.
The next such drop in event will at:
The Cakery, Widcombe Parade, on Saturday 23rd November between 2pm and 3.30pm.
This is an opportunity to talk about issues or concerns with those who may be best placed to respond, and to learn what our police service have been engaged with around Widcombe. For those of us who don’t have any particular crime related issue to raise, it’s an opportunity to meet and thank those who, often behind the scenes, keep us in that fortunate position.
I need hardly add that these events are additional to and in no sense a substitute for dialling 101 in response to immediate need or, in an emergency, 999.
Alan Langton
Widcombe Association Secretary
Ps I hope to confirm our election hustings very shortly. Meanwhile, keep the evening of Wednesday 4th December free. Five candidates are standing in Bath.

Secretary WA
