Widcombe Ward Councillors – Councillors Ian Gilchrist and Ben Stevens attended the committee meeting. Covered in the discussions were:Rossiter Road: Concern was expressed about the recent lack of progress on this scheme. The councillors assured us that this is a priority for the current administration. A Steering Group meeting is scheduled for next week when it is hoped that there will be progress towards a public presentation of the final design.Beechen Cliff School all weather pitches lights: The ecology report has been received and the application to extend the lighting period to 9pm may come before the Development Control Committee in the near future.20 mph speed limit zones: Consultation letters will shortly go out to residents in two areas, Bathwick / Bathwick Hill and Widcombe Hill and westwards to Lyncombe.Holloway: The council is looking at how to improve road safety in Holloway where there have been some incidents involving cars and cyclists.
Autumn Meeting – Our Autumn Meeting will take place on Thursday October 24 th at 7.30pm at Widcombe Junior School. After a brief meeting, our speaker will be Peter Rignall, the Manager of Bath Spa Station. As usual we will be serving wine and nibbles after the meeting to give people an opportunity to talk to the committee and each other. We hope that you, or another representative of your group, will be able to attend and that you will encourage others to come along too.
Vice Chairman – Andrew Gordon-Duff has resigned from this role after five years on the committee. Our thanks go to Andrew for all his hard work for WA. Keith Palmer has agreed to take over and will stand for formal election at the Autumn Meeting.
Widcombe Choir – This popular choir is now starting its second year. An exciting programme of singing is planned along with performances at various events throughout the year. New voices are always welcome, (especially male voices!), so, if you enjoy singing, do come along to St Matthew’s on a Monday evening at 7.30 pm and give it a try. There are no auditions and your first ‘taster’ session is free!

Craft Fair – The seventh annual Craft Fair will take place on Saturday November 23 rd at St Matthew’s from 10.00 am until 5.30 pm.
