Wednesday November 18th Garden Club –“John Tucker’s Swansong – a look at running Prior Park Garden Centre over the years”. John has been an amazing supporter of and contributor to the Garden Club over many years.
Saturday November 21st Craft Fair. There will be a preview for members only on Friday November 20th from 6.00pm to 9.00pm. Open to all on Saturday November 21st. Free entrance to an amazing selection of stalls featuring the very best in crafts and arts. A great place for your Christmas shopping!
Thursday December 3rd “Widcombe Welcomes Christmas:” Christmas lights switch on in Widcombe Parade with late night shopping, musical entertainment, food and more. Our own Lady Margaret and our MP Ben Howlett will be there to open the festivities. A raffle will be held with profits going to Mercy In Action, a charity that works with street children in the Philippines. Mercy in Action has recently opened a shop in the Parade.
Rossiter Road Review – Mike Wrigley and the Rossiter Road sub-committee have done an extensive review of the Rossiter Road scheme which covers the issue of the crossings at the bottom of Widcombe Hill and Prior Park Road, concerns about the cycle lane, parking, service areas for traders, defects in design, signage etc. All of the concerns expressed at the Autumn Meeting, and more, are covered. At their request, this review will be sent to BANES so they can take it into account when conducting their own audit that has to be produced within six months from the completion of the scheme.
Bath City Forum – The Bath City Forum will be hosting this years Budget Consultation Event in the Banqueting Room at The Guildhall on 26th November at 6-7.30pm. The Council are holding a series of budget consultation meetings across the Communities of Bath and North East Somerset. These meetings provide people with the opportunity to hear about the Councils financial plans for the next four years. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and feed into the discussions on the budget proposals. This year there will be five meetings which are open to the public and are being hosted by the Connecting Communities Area Forums. Widcombe Calendar – Our lovely new 2016 Widcombe Calendar sold like hot cakes at the Autumn Meeting. It will be on sale at the Craft Fair on November 21st. It is also now on sale at Flamingo in Widcombe Parade, Prior Park Garden Centre, Prior Park Landscape Garden shop & the Tourist Office.
