Active Travel Routes
The Council has just launched its formal consultation on three Active Travel Routes. These are the proposals to establish safe cycling routes within the City. Two of the proposals impinge on Widcombe.
- A route from Beckford Road and North Road to Bath University,
- A route from Bath University to Combe Down via Copseland with new crossings of North Road and Widcombe Hill (either end of Copseland), Quarry Farm and the existing off-road footpath.
- A section of the Upper Bristol Road from Midland Road to Charlotte Street,
Some further details are provided on the link on the Council’s website. The consultation is open until 21st March and the link is activetravel_fundconsultation@bathnes.gov.uk We would encourage everyone to respond to these to ensure local residents make their views clear.
Clean Air Zone
The Bath Clean Air Zone is due to start from 15th March, 2021. You will find details of the scheme on beta.bathnes.gov.uk/bath-clean-air. You can check if your vehicle will be charged, the list of exemptions and details of a financial assistance scheme for those with vehicles that are chargeable.
Membership management system
If you have ever signed up for an event you will be aware that this is currently managed by Groupspaces. This system is being withdrawn from the end of this month and your committee has been looking at alternatives. A new system will be set up over the course of the next few weeks so there will be some changes. Please be assured that the privacy of your data will continue to be protected and we will try and make the transition as seamless as possible.
