Dear Widcombe Association Member
Widcombe Association AGM
A reminder that our AGM is next Thursday, 19 April, at Widcombe Social Club from 7.30 pm. This is an opportunity to meet and, as necessary, elect committee members, be brought up to date on our finances and current activities and to discuss local issues. Guest speakers: Paul Simons (Chairman, Cleveland Pools Bath Project); Prof Barry Gilbertson (Chairman City of Bath UNESCO World Heritage Site Advisory Panel). Also a social occasion – wine and nibbles provided. Members free, visitors £3.00 on the door (or sign up as a member).
Widcombe Magazine
Spring/Summer edition now delivered locally, with many thanks to the editor, contributors and deliverers. Another excellent read in my view. Further copies remain available at a number of Widcombe shops, pubs and cafes.
Parking Consultation Survey
The WA is to carry out, on a neutral basis, an opinion survey on behalf of the Council regarding parking on Lyncombe Vale, Lyncombe Vale Road, Rosemount Lane, Greenway Lane and Perrymead. The aim is to establish residents’ views about current parking conditions in these roads and the level of support or otherwise for further parking controls/residents’ parking zone. Letters and forms will be delivered to all households in May. Further information will also be available at the AGM.
Clean Air
The Council has issued its latest proposals for clean air in Bath and these could have a significant impact on Widcombe (part in and part out of the proposed clean air zone). More information at: http ://www . bathnes . gov . uk/bath-b
White Hart Junction
No further information on when works start at the White Hart junction. Latest information said ‘just after Easter’!
Midsummer Party
Widcombe Midsummer Party confirmed for Sunday 1st July. The Parade will be closed to traffic, hosting community and local talent on-stage, plus all the local eateries. Save the date, and if you wish to be actively involved please get in touch with the lead organiser: hfurlonger@gmail.com
Best Regards
