The WA has published the results from its recently completed Parking Survey in Lyncombe Vale, Lyncombe Vale Road, Rosemount Hill, Greenway and Perrymead. This was undertaken on behalf of Bath & North East Somerset Council to test if there is enough support to warrant further work to look at residents parking zone extension or different on-road parking controls. By doing this work the WA has ensured that new measures are considered and are not delayed due to a lack of council budget for this survey.
The report concludes there is general support for considering parking changes, meeting the threshold of 50% support of all houses in all five roads. There are differences in emphasis in each road and these are reflected in the published data analysis.
Unfortunately, this is only the start of a process and if changes are to be introduced then further surveys of existing parking patterns, detailed proposals and a full consultation will be required from BANES. As there is clear public support across the area we are pressing for plans to be now included in BANES’ budget for the financial year starting in April 2019.
