The St Mark's Committee would like to hear if any residents of the area want to make use of garden at times when it is not used by Acorns Pre-School

Interested residents would need to form a new user group willing to contribute to the upkeep in return for access to the garden during school holidays and weekends.

If you would like to get involved please contact

Combe Down Tunnel Open Day

Members of the public are invited to walk through the mile long tunnel before being transformed to its new role as part of the Two Tunnels Greenway. Everyone is welcome.

Walks will start every half hour between 10am and 4pm at the Tucking Mill (southern) end of the tunnel.

To ensure that numbers are properly managed, it is requested that places are booked on the Two Tunnels website at www.twotunnels.org.uk , where further details are available.

Current health and safety requires hard hats (or something similar) to be worn, so if you have one please bring it: if not one will be provided for you. The tunnel surface is uneven so sensible shoes are recommended. And it's very dark inside, so please bring a torch.

The event is free, but a small voluntary contribution, suggested at £2 per person, to Wateraid or the Two Tunnels Project, would be appreciated.

A welcome return of the Eberle String Quartet, which was a resounding success at last year's festival. This critically acclaimed Quartet has become known for the high quality of their performances and the evident rapport of the players. They travel extensively, giving recitals, workshops and master classes in Britain and Europe.

Friday 30 July Renowned baroque cellist, Susan Sheppard, will give a recital accompanied on harpsichord by Timothy Lloyd. Susan has played principal cello with the Academy of Ancient Music, the London Classical Players, and most recently the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, of which she is a founder member.
